xD I'm watching a Wil E. Coyote and Roadrunner episode in my Management class right now. I'm amused.

So, NDK was fun. As usual =D  But I'm just letting you all know that as of right now, I am running under the assumption that I will NOT be going to NDK next year. Hopefully my plans are going to be going as planned, which means that, as of NDK next year, I will be very much out of the country.
Also, I'm thinking that even if I DO go next year, I'll only go for one day. I'm honestly burnt out on the whole Anime Con thing. I think eight years in a row is a pretty good run, and I'd still like to go for the whole Saturday deal and maybe do a cosplay or two, but otherwise I'm just not digging it enough to spend all that time, money and energy anymore.

Ultimately I'm letting you guys know that I'm no longer gonna be in charge of the room. Thats back on your guy's plates. Maybe by the time NDK rolls around over the years I'll have changed my mind about only going for one day.

 So I was watching the TV when a commercial for some E! show for the red carpet or something came on. It's the ones that have the silly "Blah Blah Blah - More of that Please!" catchphrase. It had Hugh Laurie on it! And I'm like "Yay!" at first, but then I realized what the commercial announcer had said.

"Hugh Laurie's fake English accent? More of that, please!"

And I'm like "....WTF, are they serious???"

Being me, I like to think that I either misheard or misinterpreted what they said. Unfortunately, Americans being Americans, I probably am completely right in thinking that we, as a country, are MORONS.

Gonna try and catch the commercial again, or maybe even the show, just to see.

Alice in Wonderland. By Tim Burton. Pretty fuckin exciting, no?
I'M sure excited, especially after two things: 1 is that Burton flatly refused Lindsey Lohan's (desprete) request that she play Alice and instead picked an Unknown actress (Mia Wasikowska). 2 was right after I saw the first promo pics for it ( www.slashfilm.com/2009/06/21/first-photos-tim-burtons-alice-in-wonderland-what-do-you-think/). Just the fact that its so CREEPY and, right there, are three actors that have proven their snuff to me as GOOD actors really carried me forwards through any hesitations I might've had.

(Now for a pre-emptive "don't worry".)
But then I found this little blurb: "The film is actually a sequel to the original story, and follows Alice, now 17 years old, as she escapes from a snooty party and follows a white rabbit down a hole, back to Wonderland. The White Rabbit is convinced that he has the right girl, the one who had visited the magical land ten years prior. But Alice doesn’t remember her past visit to Wonderland. The creatures of Wonderland are ready to revolt and are hoping/waiting for Alice to help them, but will she? Can she? I highly recommend you check out the the character promo photos, as well as the concept art in our previous story."

Now, normally this sort of stuff would have me running for the hills. But the fact remains that this is Tim fuckin Burton. He hasn't let me down yet, and the fact that it is this totally amazing and psychotic director taking on a totally amazing and psychotic book like Alice's Adventures in Wonderland makes me have only the tiniest, microscopic bit of doubt that I'm sure will be washed away as soon as the opening music starts. Sequal? Hell, it will probably be one of the best fuckin' "sequals" out there. Plus, people wont have any chance to rip into it by whining "I liked the original better". Now I'll admit that the only cinimatic version of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland OR Through the Looking Glass that I've seen was the Disney version. I dont care how much crack or acid those guys were on when they made it, I liked the movie. So I won't have a whole lot to compare it to..... which is good. I'll only have the book, and EVEN THEN I wont be able to compare it much (the whole "sequal" thing is looking more ingenious the more I think about it).

Anyways, the whole point is that if there was ever a director to produce a sequal that would be worth its stuff, it would probably be Tim Burton. Even if he IS working with Disney.
Yeah, sorry, this was a total waste of LJ-space. Ah well.

NDK! So, yeah i know its only June, but I've been hella confused as far as what exactly I'm doing for cosplay and shit.
So since (theoretically) all the people it concerns are on my flist, I'm just jotting down what I know so far.

Cosplay I KNOW I'm doing:
Ginko (Mushishi) with Drawer
Fakir (Princess Tutu) with everyone

Cosplay I'm not sure I'm doing anymore/yet/havent confirmed/am confused about/But am willing and able to do:
Kyo (Fruits Basket)
Kanji (P4)
Reborn (Katekyoushi Hitman Reborn) with Drawer (about 90% sure I'm doing this)
I think there was one more but I cant remember anymore.

The Fakir one is my main one this year. Ginko is easy enough to do for half a day but I'd really like to cosplay him a full day. Otherwise I'm still able and willing to negotiate the cosplays above or even tack on more possibilities. If I dont get anymore "groups" to do then I'm gonna go ahead and do the Reborn cosplay.

Whelp, I just booked our room for NDK! =D We got me, ix, Milano, Kasha, and Drawer, so it's a nice full room (but the hotel doesnt know that, so hush hush). The current total price is $158, so everyone owes me $31.60. Now they called this the subtotal, so I don't know what else they could tack on. I think it's just in case we order room service and such. I'll let you all know if the price changes. If everyone could PLEASE pay me at the very lastest by Friday of the con, that'd be great. If you have a check please do it earlier so I can cash it in time to use it at the con. Drawer is the obvious exception here since she's not coming out until Thursday(?), but an advanced paymet would still be appreciated ^_^.

The "Other guest" is Milano, which means that if she gets there before me she can open up our room. But I'm planning on getting to NDK pretty early this year (I'll have my own car!) with Drawer and whoever wants to hitch a ride. I'm aiming to get a courtyard room this year! 

Also, just so you all know, today is the last day for a $40 advanced registration. After that its $45 and then $50 at the door.

I'm hoping against hope that we can get two beds this year. If we don't I'm calling on Mil to bring her blowup bed so we can have two and everyone will be comfy. ALSO we should all bring our own blankets cause the hotels SUCK at providing extra blankets that actually keep a body warm.

.....I think thats it. Don't worry I'll repost this closer to NDK 'cause I'm sure I'll have also forgotten some stuff.

Hopefully I'll have my cosplays done in time...

I GOT A JOB!

...that was fast....

I say that 'cause I walked in for what I thought was going to be an interview with student-oriented-headhunters and walked out a few hours later with a job and training schedual.  
Its not my ideal job only because I'm selling kitchen cutlery. When I learned that that was what I was interviewing for, I was sorta "Oh, well....ok I guess...." But the job is pretty cool. I've actually gotten excited over this stuff I'm selling (Cutco Kitchen Wares). These knives are the shit. Seriously. 

Anywhoodles, I'm excited =D I'll actually have something to do over the summer! And income. Income is very important too. Now I just need to get a liscence and learn to drive a stick so I wont have to bus my ass all over Boulder and beyond.
